Historic documents cataloguing appeal raises £2,455

The society’s recent appeal for funds to complete the cataloguing of the BAS deeds collection of over 11,000 documents has raised £2,455 – and we will be able to add to this by reclaiming tax under the Gift Aid scheme.

So thanks are due to all who have donated. The fund will be sent to the Bucks Records Society, who are funding the work at Buckinghamshire Archive. The new catalogue will make the document collection accessible for research.

New President for the Society

At the Society’s AGM held on 11th May 2019 Julian Hunt (left) was elected as President of the Bucks Archaeological Society, taking over from Dr Richard Gem (right) who retired after serving as President since 2008. The members thanked Richard for his service to the Society and to the heritage of Buckinghamshire and his wise advice  to Council during his Presidency.

changes to membership pages

Added a couple of menu items under membership to separate new users from members who are renewing. as part of this I have attached a template for a standing order mandate. I cannot find one on the existing site, if there is can you point it out to me please.

Changes to home page

Changed the left most “Things We Do” on the home page (the one with a picture of the library) to be about the Resources we have and are available both on line and in person. The wording can be improved and expanded and links added so please do so. But I think that the message is correct. –Look at the stuff we have for you-.
